The first wedding anniversary gift is traditionally paper.  Creative items to give could be:

A massage gift certificate

Have a calligrapher write your vows out on paper and frame it for your spouse.

Love notes on the mirror before work.

Perhaps a journal to write in for her or him.

Maybe paper roses would be just the thing.

Anything to do with paper personalized to your spouse’s likes and style will do.  Get creative and have fun!

Read on to know the history behind anniversaries.

This editions Tips from the Pros comes from Bill Thum, Cinematographer Extraordinaire of Superior Productions.  His tips when researching who and how your memories will be captured are:

1 – Of all life’s treasures, none make you feel richer than your memories.

2- A truly excellent wedding DVD captures the memories of your wedding like no other medium. All the sights, all the sounds, all the emotions.

3 – The DVD you will watch more than any other in your lifetime will be your wedding DVD.

I couldn’t agree more.  Most couples easily spend five figures and more on their wedding day yet at the end have no way to RELIVE it.  You can remember through a photograph, but relive it through video….IF it’s a well produced movie of your wedding day.  I KNOW Bill can deliver that for you.

Molly and Ashley were married last July and came to me with a unique idea for their Grand March.  You see, Molly and Ashley are HUGE Milwaukee Brewers fans and love to attend Miller Park home games.  One of their favorite events to happen at Miller Park is the Sausage Race.  They loved this event SO MUCH that they wanted to incorporate it into their reception.  What resulted was one of the most FUN Grand Marches ANY of their friends have ever seen.  Molly and Ashley had their wedding party members start at one end of the Terrace Bay Inn and march around the outskirts of the room from the back entrance to the dance floor and when it came time for their entrance…we had the Sausage Race just as they do at Miller Park.  Molly was the hot dog and Ashley was the sausage and they raced each other around the dance floor to the same theme music played and I delivered the same script.  Their guests held up #1 or #2 for their favorite sausage (Molly or Ashley) and we made their Grand Entrance fun and personalized and all about Molly and Ashley.
