I recently read a Facebook exchange of how mad a past bride of mine was at a bridal shop for not having bridesmaids dresses in on time for alterations and having the bride jump through hoops just to contact them. Now this COULD be an article about customer service but it’s not.

I wanted to share with you a tip by fellow Wedding Entertainer Dan Blankowski from Atlanta, GA who wrote “Want to be best friends with the bride? Suggest to her to tell the bridal shop the wedding is a month earlier than it actually is. This will allow her enough time for alterations and ensure the dress arrives in enough time to prevent stress.”

Every couple wants to contribute to their wedding in a unique way. LOTS of wedding couples go with the traditional wedding cake, but have you possibly thought of the option to go outside the box with this aspect of your reception?

Rhiannon and Landon, Taylored Weddings clients from October of 2009 chose to go with a pie and sweet buffet featuring all different delectable pies to offer their guests. This immediately became a conversation piece for guests upon arrival when they say the amazing array of sweets. This also gave Rhiannon and Landon some extra time to enjoy guests and not be tied to the cake cutting ceremony tradition. Guests were able to come and decide which piece of pie best fit their tastes at the time and it also proved to be a cost saving alternative (by a little bit) for the newlyweds. This idea is especially perfect for a fall themed reception.

Your photographer should offer you the best in customer service and work to earn and maintain your trust. They should also be able to spell everything out of what you will receive, offer you no hidden surprises and not only meet your expectations but EXCEED them in every way possible. Openness and honesty before, during and after your wedding day should be your photographers commitment to you in capturing your memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Time Management – What’s Your Advice?

I’m often asked what is the best advice I can give any couple on their wedding day? The best advice I can give you is to STOP, take a moment on your wedding day and be a couple together. Even if it’s just for five minutes. Soak in your surroundings….the smell of fresh cut grass in the air on the way to the church, the roses in your bouquet, the leather in the seats of your limo. Taste the phenomenal meal your caterer or chef has prepared, enjoy the sounds of your friends laughing and your Grandmothers voice as she gives you congratulations. Too often couples don’t take that proper pause on a wedding day and it flies by without them able to absorb everything that is happening on that day.

What is your best piece of advice for future couples? One lucky entrant will be drawn to receive a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant. I look forward to hearing what you have to say soon.
