Ceremony site at Four Seasons

The Four Seasons resort in Pembine, WI was the setting for Jessi and Mark’s ceremony and reception this past Friday.

Jessi, Mark and I met at the Four Seasons bridal show this past year and connected right away with what they were looking to create. They hired me to provide ceremony sound and play at the reception as well and as you can see…it was a beautiful day for the two of them to get married.

Pastor did a wonderful job with the ceremony, injecting humor where appropriate and keeping it lighthearted for Jessi, Mark and their guests.

. Once the ceremony finished, Jessi and Mark had their receiving line at the top of the hill and guests were then invited to make their way upstairs in the Spring and Autumn Salons to enjoy cocktails. Hors D’ouevres were served in the Autumn Salon and I provided satellite sound in that room so guests could enjoy the same music from room to room and hear the pertinent announcements being made such as the toasts. Peggy from Four Seasons (who does an OUTSTANDING job by the way) tells me she’s surprised that no other DJ’s are providing this service to their clients.

I provided uplighting for Jessi and Mark to create a “wow” factor when their guests walked in to the room and Jessi even commented on the beautiful glow from just inside the room before she entered…she said it looked amazing.

. Guests enjoyed cocktail music from Darius Rucker, Train, Rascal Flatts, and Josh Groban with Jessi and Mark welcomed into the room. Guests enjoyed the heavy hors d’ouevres after Mark’s brother gave his toast. After dinner, I shared Jessi and Mark’s love story with their guests followed by their first dance together as husband and wife.

The dance floor was jumping pretty much the entire night with music from Norman Greenbaum and Elvis to Kevin Rudolph and Nickelback. I’m not sure when this crazy antic in the night happened, but it happened.

Thanks Jessi and Mark! It was a pleasure entertaining for your friends and family.

Janna and Tom first dance

Janna and Tom first dance

What a busy weekend! Two weddings this past weekend for two amazing families. Janna and Tom had a very emotional, heartfelt reception at the Antoine Room in Iron Mountain and it was beautiful to watch their two families come together as one for them on their wedding day. We had a blast! The night started with the introductions of Janna and Tom’s bridal party where I’m sure Keith Freeman of Freeman’s Photography got some amazing reaction photos from Janna and Tom with their friends to a new and unique way to release tables (so FUN!) and then we moved on to their specialty dances. Janna and Tom have a beautiful love story and then we shared their first dance with their guests and very tender moments were shared between Rod and Janna and Diana and Tom for the father daughter and mother son dance. I even shed a tear during these moments…they were truly beautiful.

From there we partied the rest of the night away including a “Shout” ending that had everyone up and on the floor. Great way to end the night for a truly beautiful couple and amazing families.

Kaitlyn and Mike, along with their parents Karen and John and Marty and Michael, all put a lot of time and effort into creating a beautiful day for them. Their reception was held at the Four Seasons in Pembine, Wisconsin, a beautiful setting for a wedding. Their introductions of the bridal party were quite fun and I had the pleasure of working with Rachel again, an outstanding photographer from the Green Bay area. Then a wonderful sit down meal served by the Four Seasons staff and then we showed a photo montage that I helped create for Kaitlyn and Mike that everyone enjoyed. From there we moved on to the specialty dances.  Kaitlyn and her dad John had a fun Father Daughter dance to “Love Without End, Amen” by George Strait that had all of her friends and family clapping in rhythm to the beat of the song towards the end of their dance.  Marty and Mike then shared their Mother Son dance with everyone to “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong.  We then kicked off the dancing and the party was on!  It was a very pro 80′s crowd that Kaitlyn and Mike had in attendance and we played such favorites as “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough” by Michael Jackson, “You Spin Me Round” by Dead or Alive and even “Give It To Me Baby” by Rick James!

The end of the night happened with a drunken group sing a long to “Piano Man” by Billy Joel and an encore of “We Are Family”.  Wonderful memories shared and a great weekend with four beautiful families.

Well, the holidays are upon us. It’s hard to believe that 2007 has almost come and gone. It has been a busy year for me and the Taylor family. From two different trips one to Montana and one to Maine, to leaving my full time day job and pursuing my dream of being a wedding entertainer full time…it’s been a roller coaster ride of emotions. My wife’s grandmother passed away just a couple of weeks ago. She will be dearly missed.

This time of year causes reflections. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the people who have assisted me throughout the year. Vendors such as (in no particular order), Keith and Michelle Freeman, Maggie Depuydt, Tiffany Albaugh, David Hakamaki, Bill Thum, Mickey Connor, Mike and Laurie from the Terrace, Ron, Kristy, Kim, and Mitch from the Danforth Place, Gary from Pine Grove CC, the ladies from Norway Mountain, Barb from Four Seasons Resort, Sherri from the Island Casino, Jack Ouelette, Ray Maki, Rhonda from Flinn’s, Joanna Amis from HobNob, Dan from Celebrations Charters, Vicki Micheau and everyone from the Delta County Chamber of Commerce, all of the vendors of the Dream Day Event Center…there are several others I am sure and you all played a role in my success this year….I thank you.

To my business associates in Lee Haynes, Ann Marie Jasso and Danielle Carlson, my web designer Sarah Chouinard, my tech guru Michael Malone, and everyone with my DJA family I say thank you for all of your help and assistance throughout this past year. Your drive and determination has been an inspiration to me.

Last but CERTAINLY not least, I say THANK YOU to my valued clients. Thank you for your belief in me and for allowing me to be a part of your special days. I’m so privileged to work with and for such wonderful people week in and week out.

Finally, I would like to say thank you to my family. Michelle, Hunter, Kendall, my Mom and Dad Harry and Peggy Taylor, my brother Kirk and his family, Michelle’s family, Mike, Judy, Kristy and Tim and all of their extended family members. You all have had my back and supported me 100% in the passion I have for my business. You are the best family infrastructure anyone could ask for.

To all reading this, take a moment this holiday season and slow down. Life moves pretty fast. We all too often get caught up in our day to day activities and forget to stop and cherish the moment that we are living in, feel our surroundings and take that breath of fresh air and experience it. Do that today. Do it now.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.

Thanks for reading.
