You could have heard a pin drop….everyone in the room focused on Katie and Clay’s first dance together as husband and wife. It’s a rare occurrence at wedding receptions when you think about it…as most times people are too engrossed in their conversation, the day’s decor or in their drink they are consuming. Not Katie and Clay’s guests. Why? Why were they more focused than guests at a typical wedding happening anywhere else across America this Saturday night? Look for a future blog post covering this exact reason.

A funny thing happened on the way to dinner. April 17th, 2010 was a windy day here in Delta County, Michigan….but a beautiful day for Theresa and Michael to get married. Theresa and Michael were originally referred to me from Amanda and Jesse’s wedding, and prior to that from Lindsey and Clay’s wedding…who hopefully will be the subject of a future blog post. Theresa and Michael both come from wonderful families, it was a pleasure getting to know their parents over the past few months.
Exhausted. Fulfilled. A passion renewed. These words are what describes my feelings today as I write this on Sunday May 11th, 2008. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers of the world. Here’s a picture of my Mom and Dad with my kids Hunter and Kendall in Montana last June. This day is for you.
The night started with the personalized introductions of the bridal party, complete with including a karaoke version of the Usher Troy Sovey singing “Call Me” by Blondie and incorporating that into his introduction. Following that was our cake cutting ceremony and then a personalized toast that I helped to add to on the fly by the Best Man Steve Braun. After our sit down meal, we had two special tributes planned for Alison and Brad. Here are pics of one of the occasions. The emotion on their faces is the payoff for all of my hard work before their event. There were several other aspects of their reception that was personalized just for Brad and Alison and I was proud to play a part in creating those memories for them.
Below is a customized gobo that I created to be shown on the dance floor to help create a “WOW” moment for Alison and Brad as they took the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife.
