Angie and Jesse upon meeting me decided to go with an all-inclusive package. Taylored Weddings provided the decor lighting that you see here and we can choose virtually any color you can create. The beauty of our system is that as the Master of Ceremonies we know what part of the night is coming up next, the mood that will be created and we can alter your lighting at any time to fit that mood. Why settle for one color when you can have a variety? Guests were commenting all night about the beauty that we created with the venue with Angie and Jesse’s choice of purple transforming the walls of the Bark River Senior Center. Guests gathered in to the room and families all pitched in for the catering. Angie and Jesse arrived in style in the Perronville Penitentiary Bus…a bus completely “pimped” out with couches and comfortable seating. From there the Wedding Party entered to some fun custom introductions followed by a welcome given by Angie and Jesse. Angie and Jesse’s cake cutting ceremony got a little messy and then guests were invited to eat via a fun new way after the Toasts. Angie and Jesse then enjoyed their photo montage that I helped prepare for them (seen right) and we moved to the next creative aspects of their reception…their First Dance. Angie read a poem to Jesse that she wrote for him back when they started dancing and it was a great way to create a romantic moment for the two of them. They then shared their Father Daughter and Mother Son dances with their guests before the dance floor started hoppin’. Guests enjoyed classics such as “Celebration” and “Unchained Melody” to the not so traditional choices such as “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the Proclaimers and Rascal Flatts live version of “Lean On Me”. Pictures say a thousand words and let’s just say that the ending of the night for Angie and Jesse was very memorable….Angie came up to me at the end of the night, crying tears of joy, cursing me amidst the tears because I made her cry those tears of happiness and thanked me over and over. Jesse came up and said “Mitch…you were ****** AWESOME!” Not just awesome but ****** AWESOME!…and you can quote me on that!” Thank YOU Angie and Jesse for being a wonderful couple to work with and I wish you nothing but the best life has to offer.

Heather and Nic's Wedding Day

Wedding season is now in full swing and last night I had the pleasure to perform for Heather and Nic and their families. Heather and Nic opted to go with our uplighting package, a little more advanced from others that you may have seen before as ours will transform the mood of the room during the evening creating different colors and accompanying different emotions throughout the night. Here’s a pic of their head table done with uplighting.

Our dinner was a bit delayed due to Heather and Nic showing their affection for each other by smashing cake and they also came up with the unique idea to get them to kiss by having their guests pop bubblewrap in the same wedding colors that they had chosen. Heather held back emotion filled tears during their Love Story and during her Father Daughter dance.

Dancing got underway and everyone had a great time. I’m sure Fawn Clement of Fawn’s photography got some amazing images as there was definitely some fun shots to take. We wrapped up the evening at midnight with everyone saying goodbyes and congratulations to Heather and Nic, and ended their reception as they wished, on an upbeat note to the sounds of Outkast’s “Hey Ya”.

Megan and Adam

September 27th, 2008 was a wonderful day for Megan and Adam Whitney…but their wedding plans started much earlier. I originally met Megan back at her sister Jennifer and husband Jason Gartland’s wedding, when I first got to perform for the Frappier family. Megan and Adam hired me about two years prior to their wedding day and thusly had plenty of time to prepare. Megan and Adam chose a fun and creative way to dismiss their tables for dinner and had a beautiful love story to share with their guests. As they took the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife, like magic their own custom monogram appeared next to them on the dance floor, “wowing” the guests and family. Their family and friends are wonderful people and they stayed, danced and celebrated with Megan and Adam all night long. Special thanks goes to Don the Entertainer for traveling in from Minnesota and helping me on the day. This truly was a memorable day for the Frappier and Whitney families and it was a pleasure working with them.

What an amazing last few weeks it has been. Just after my last post, I had a wedding reception at Pine Mountain in Iron Mountain for Amanda and Dan Krznarich. The Sielaff and Krznarich families are TRULY beautiful people, and it was a pleasure working with and for their children. Amanda and Dan had a very personalized and memorable wedding day and we even went overtime and created a very intimate ending for the last song of the night for them.

June 20^th found me in Marquette for the Superior Bike Race. What a fun time when a community comes together and supports a sport such as cycling. People came from all over in and outside of the state of Michigan to participate in this event and we had a great time. Thanks to all of the hardworking folks at Frei Chevrolet for their assistance that night.

June 21^st was Jessica and Steve Gartland’s wedding. These two are meant for each other and their beautiful daughter Shannin is just a doll. We had a great time and we even had a special introduction for one of their groomsman who strongly resembled Larry The Cable Guy!

June 28^th brought the wedding of Angela and Craig Harris at the Island Resort & Casino. Angela and I have been working together on her wedding for quite some time and had several different moments that were personalized just for the two of them. Their first dance twist definitely surprised the crowd and created a moment that they and their guests will never forget. The evening ended on a high note with everyone celebrating with the two of them.

This weekend marks the 4^th of July. I have two amazing weddings this weekend and am truly blessed to work for the best clients in the world. First, Jessica and David are getting married in Gladstone with a reception to follow at the Terrace Bay Inn. David proposed to Jessica in Paris exactly one year ago on the 4^th of July after a friend’s wedding there. These two met with me a couple of months ago and currently live in the Baltimore Maryland area. Jessica and David’s tastes in music are eclectic and I am looking forward to entertaining their guests from all over the world who want to celebrate with Jessica and David in style. One of my best friends Eric Wagner aka “Crash” is making his usual trip up from Detroit to the U.P. and since he performs as a wedding entertainer in that market, he will be joining me to assist with their wedding on Friday night. My next reception is on Saturday night in Manistique at a private residence for Janice and Matthew Chittle. This will be a very intimate gathering of family and friends to join these two as they start their new life together.

Sunday marks the 5^th annual Taylor 4^th of July party and we should have approximately 50-80 people here at our home to celebrate summer in the U.P. and America’s independence. I would like to encourage all of you to thank your veterans of our Armed Forces this weekend. Freedom IS NOT free and we truly owe a debt of gratitude to these brave men and women. Thank you and have a happy and safe 4^th of July.
